With the rise of foldable phones, gimbal stabilizers (the handheld devices that can make your mobile videos look smooth) have one BIG problem - they simply won't work with them.
So far only two major companies have launched folding phones - Samsung with its #GalaxyFold, and Huawei with the Mate X. Both are large smartphones with screens that can fold or unfold, and even be used to some extent with the screen closed.
The StayblCam was the world's first video stabilizer created for both smart phones and action cameras - and now remains the only one on the market that can properly hold foldable smartphones for video stabilization.
Electronic "gimbal" stabilizers, or even other mechanical stabilizers rely on a clamp type grip to hold your phone in place.
But there is a problem with this: The clamps only stretch out to about 3 inches, or roughly 80mm. This is enough to hold most regular phones - but not foldable phones, since they are TWICE the width of a regular smartphone!
The StayblCam on the other hand uses its own patented slot design. It features a thin slot and a thick slot, to support a wide range of phone thicknesses. Furthermore, a lot of testing and engineering went into finding the perfect rubber resin to use in the StayblCam's grip. It had to have a perfect combination of softness and hardness, texture, and friction. The end result was a very durable and firm grip that will your phone securely - even when filming upside down!
The other major obstacle for using a gimbal stabilizer with a foldable such as the Samsung Galaxy Fold or the Huawei Mate X - is that those stabilizers were designed and calibrated to only hold the weight of an average smartphone.
Folding phones however, weigh nearly TWICE as much as other phones, so even if the gimbal stabilizers could grip them - they couldn't balance them. The StayblCam can hold AND balance devices up to 400 grams in weight - easily balancing foldable phones.

Although there are other video stabilizers on the market – almost all of them still have a few shortcomings in terms of what they can and cannot be used for.
Many competing stabilizers are also not that easy to operate for the average consumer. Most often with other mechanical stabilizers, users have to spend some time setting a balance point with counterweights, screws, or levers – and they are prone to problems like wind affecting balance. Electronic gimbal stabilizers have limitations with battery time, fragile design, and limited range. The StayblCam was designed from the ground up to be extremely easy to use for anyone.
